Fishing Licenses

I was walking on the beach the other day, and I came upon a man fishing along the shore line. He was tossing his line only about 30 feet into the water right about where the waves were breaking… and he was pulling fish out like crazy…

I sat there and watched him for a while, and noticed that he wasn’t displaying a fishing license. I thought I remembered that you needed a fishing license to fish in the ocean.

Does anyone know the answer to the question:

Do you need a fishing license to fish in the ocean ?

    Yes. I got one this year for me. Anyone who is over 16 in CA needs to have one even if they are just planning to touch a pole. About $30.00 for the year I want to say.
